Where Have You Been Putting God?

Where did Emily go? It’s FINALS WEEK!!!!!!!!! In other words, the Hunger Games of college. As you can imagine I have been quite busy and stressed. And as you can imagine…some of my usual priorities have gone out the window. And unfortunately, last week God kind of got put out the window as well.

Here’s how it goes (and I’m sure all of you can relate to this sometimes): I wake up, check my phone, look at all of the things I need to get done that day, say a quick prayer, and get the day started. I know I should probably read my Bible or journal, but there’s just no time right now! Besides, I can do it later. The day goes on and the list of things to do keeps piling up. By the end of the day I am too exhasued to even read my Bible or connect with God.

Now of course, we all have days like this sometimes–it’s completely normal, and God knows we are human. However, I had been having a string of these days, and I knew that I was putting God on the back burner of my life. I was trying to do things in my own strength, instead of relying on the strength and grace of Jesus Christ.

So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty (Zechariah 4:6 NIV).

What about you? Are you busy with school, work, family stress, bills to pay, kids to raise, and all of life’s hurdles? God knows, and He understands. He wants to help. He wants you to rely on Him and seek His face first.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30 KJV).

So come to God children of Christ! Seek Him first, and seek His Spirit for strength and guidance. Let God love and comfort you like nothing else can.

Have a great week everyone! I will try to catch up reading your blogs as the week moves on. Feel free to comment below 🙂

Love, Emily <3
