Faith in Action
As my wise friend Rob once said–we are all role models whether we like it or not. The choice we have is whether we are going to be good or bad role models.
There are plenty of Christians who talk about God or what the Bible says, but they don’t always practice what they preach. I think a lot of us (myself included) are afraid to preach the Gospel because we don’t know what to say. We get scared that we’ll mess up, or that we won’t sound convincing enough.
Truly preaching the Gospel goes beyond words. Obviously we need to use words to tell people who Jesus is and what He did on the cross, but actions speak louder than words. They are what makes faith come alive. No one will truly believe in Jesus if they never see His love and power at work in our lives.
But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works (James 2:18 NKJV).
The greatest way to show our faith and how powerful it can be is to put it into action. Love is a verb and so is faith. We need to serve those around us and trust God and His plan for our lives. We need to follow the direction of the Holy Spirit and be bold in our words and actions.
It’s time for a wake up call! The next generation is looking up to us. People who don’t believe in God are watching us. They are looking at our behavior, our attitudes, and our love. Will we be perfect? Of course not, that’s why we have Jesus. But our hearts, thoughts, and actions as a whole should reflect our Savior.
I hope I have encouraged you to walk in boldness. I know that God has been working in me to be more bold when talking about my faith, encouraging, helping, and praying for others. Our love and the way we live our lives can make a huge difference to those around us! Let’s do our best and let God be glorified.
Its’s time for an announcement! There has been an update to my blogging schedule. As many of you know, I do my best to provide you with quality content and writing that the Holy Spirit leads me create.
Lately I have been very busy with school and work, so I need to change my posting schedule. Wednesday posts will continue every week, but my Fashion Friday posts will be uploaded every other week (with one being posted next Friday).
Thanks for sticking with me and my ever changing schedule! And as always, thanks for reading. I love you my dear readers and followers.
Please feel free to comment and share 🙂

Thank you for sharing this piece Emily. I fall under the category of those who are afraid to preach the Gospel because I don’t know what to say. Yeah I also fear I won’t be convincing enough or I may mess up 🙁
But then this line struck me ‘No one will truly believe in Jesus if they never see His love and power at work in our lives’ I may not be able to talk literally, but I can live my life in a way that reflects His love and power at work in me.Thanks for the encouragement to carry on. God bless!

Thanks M! I find that just talking about what God is doing in my life (and showing) helps break down barriers, but I do struggle a lot. But hey, we also have writing to get the message across! God bless you too girly 😊

Saint Thomas Aquinas once said, “Preach the gospel always, and when necessary, use words.” Keep up the great work Emily.
