Modesty Life Hacks!
Happy Friday lovely readers and followers! Sorry about missing this Wednesday’s post. I had some medical testing done and was backed up with work 🙁 But I’m back and ready to rock and roll! Can you believe summer is around the corner?
With the warmer weather comes summer fashion–which can be a nightmare for those of us looking to dress more modestly/classy. In a world full of booty shorts and bikinis, how can we glorify God and still look fashionable?
Believe me, it’s possible! Today I will show you some easy life hacks to make your summer wardrobe look classy and on fleek! (Lol, do people still say that?)
Obviously mini shorts leave little to the imagination, and therefore aren’t very modest. But that doesn’t mean you have to give up on shorts entirely! JC Penney’s Arizona brand has some awesome mid length shorts (top right) that cover the upper thigh in the most flattering way (I promise they are longer than on the model).
For those of you who like bermuda shorts, American Eagle also has a flattering skinny cut (bottom right) in lots of different shades!
Crop tops–the fashion trend that won’t quit. The good news is you can wear it too! One of my favorite ways of wearing a crop top is by wearing a contrasting colored cami underneath (center). This keeps you covered while pulling the whole outfit together!
Another creative and modest way to wear a crop top is to pair it with a high waisted maxi skirt (right)! This makes it look dressy and elegant. Just make sure you test out the outfit to ensure coverage.
When you’re trying to make your wardrobe modest, swimsuit shopping can be the worst. It’s like you must either let it all show in a bikini or wear a frumpy old lady bathing suit! Finally one piece swimsuits are coming back in style (bottom right) and come in all sorts of cuts and patterns. Just be careful–as not all of them are modest.
What if your torso is too long for a one piece (like me), or you just don’t like the look? Thank the Lord for tankinis (top right)! This one pictured is actually very similar to the one I bought last year from JC Penney. Tankinis are great because you are still wearing a two piece, but your torso is more covered. I heard Sears has a good selection as well.
I hope you liked this post! Remember that modesty isn’t about rules or being perfect. It’s about our effort to dress classy to honor King Jesus. After all, royalty wouldn’t dress just any way the world does right?

Here’s a proverb that I like:
“Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion.” Proverbs 11:22
