How to Dress Like a Disney Princess

Hello lovely readers and followers! Fashion Friday might be falling on a Wednesday, but that’s only because I have a special post planned for Friday 🙂 Anyway, if you’re like me, then you probably love Disney. In fact, it should go without saying that you probably have a top 5 list of your favorite Disney princesses. I certainly do, although it keeps changing (Ariel always topping at number one).

There’s a lot to learn from Disney princesses. Cinderella demonstrates the importance of kindness (even to our enemies), Ariel teaches us to be ourselves (fins or no fins), Mulan shows us that girls can do anything a boy can do, and Rapunzel teaches us the importance of following our dreams.

I know what you’re thinking–why can’t I be a Disney princess? Well the truth is, you are God’s Disney princess. He loves you and calls you beautiful, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). You mean more to Him than any gem stone; so much in fact, that He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for you (1 John 3:16). That’s better than any other princess you can be. What better royalty to be than the daughter of the Most High King?

Sometimes it helps to dress for success. So why not channel your beautiful royalty by dressing like a Disney princess? Just check out the site Disney Bound for tons of inspiration on dressing like your favorite Disney characters.

I hope you like my collages inspired by three very important princesses.

First is my girl Ariel. It’s summer, and who doesn’t want to be a mermaid? While shell bras are not very modest (and tails are not particularly human), a lilac sleeveless top and cropped mint pants channel this princess just fine. This is such a great color combo, and can be easily dressed up or down. Pair it with under the sea accessories to really pull the look together.

Cinderella is the definition of classy. Pair a baby blue dress with some glitzy heels and you will easily stun the people at the ball (or maybe just the people at church, but hey it counts). When you think Cinderella, think delicate fabrics like lace and tulle. A headband also makes the perfect accessory.

I think we all love Jasmine’s exotic beauty and delicate voice. One of my goals this summer is to finally hop on the trouser wagon and get me a pair of pants like these! Pair them with an off the shoulder ruffle top (make sure your bra is strapless to stay classy) and some pointed toe flats to get Jasmine’s look. And of course, don’t forget the gold jewelry.

Thanks for reading! I hope you were inspired by these collages. Who’s your favorite Disney princess? Comment below!

  1. Really beautiful outfits! I think my favourite outfit is Jasmine’s-I love the gold jewelry and the patterned pants. This is so creative Emily! <3 🙂

  2. I love the cinderella outfit! Now that you reminded me, I haven’t watched the little mermaid in a while. Now I’ll have to watch it soon. Lol
