“On This Day”~A Christmas Poem
On this day We remember the poor. We open the doors Of our homes and hearts To let loved ones in. On this day We give more than we receive. We open our hands And stretch our faith, Helping our fellow neighbor. On this day We put our differences aside. We open our minds To the freedom of forgiveness And the gift of grace. Let this day Last longer than just a meal. Let this day Become our anthem. As we sing of the King Who made Himself small, To give us new life On this day– And for all eternity. Happy Hiking Boots + What Should I Write??
Happy Friday lovely readers and followers! Life is busy as usual, with many good things happening all around me (including my brother’s upcoming wedding!). Anyway, while life is running a mile a minute and I’m trying to edit my book, sometimes I get stuck on what to post for my blog. What do you want me to write about? Is there any life issue you’re facing or advice you think I can provide? Do you want me…

On the Edge
I’m on the edge, My feet hanging off as I stare down Into the pit. My heart sinks, Someone get me out of here. There are vultures surrounding, Waiting for my defeat. There are ropes binding My hands behind my back. Every thought is a dagger Piercing through my soul. I’m on the edge Lord, Standing here as You call me, As You beckon me to dive Into life. I take a deep breath and Fall forward. Suddenly the pit becomes my platform As the vultures fly away. The ropes are unraveling, My thoughts shatter, As You begin to burn within me. I’m on the edge, And…

I also have a new semester starting, so I am trying to adjust to everything. I promise to return to the blogging world soon, but please enjoy a couple of guest posts from the lovely Dainty M in the mean time. Dainty M is a creative Christian blogger who didn’t hesitate to help me in my time of need. She wrote this poem for me, and I find it amazing how God inspired her to write in a way that speaks…

Hoodies and Hope
I remember being wrapped up In an over-sized hoodie Folding in on myself, As I ignored God’s quiet whisper To come home. Now here I am Staring at the hazy walls of the hospital As I wait for news. The sun is setting and The humidity is like a curtain. I’m trying to balance Who I was yesterday And the storms I now face. I trace the gold anchor Wrapped around my neck. Hope– That one word. I know I’ll make it through somehow. I know You’ll always love me Even when the hoodies are gone. I know You’ll never leave me Even when I run Down the hall, Looking…
