Save Lunabelle + Cozy Fashion

Happy Friday lovely readers and followers! I am editing this post in the middle of the night because my cat Lunabelle is sick. She’s urinating blood, but we really can’t afford to take her to the vet.

If you would like to help, please donate here https://www.gofundme.com/save-lunabelle

If you can’t donate, please share and pray for healing for her. Thanks so much!

I can feel it in the air; it’s almost Christmas! I love this holiday because of all the baking, pretty lights, decorating the tree, and gathering with family and friends.

Of course, I love remembering the birth of my Savior Jesus Christ most of all. Even though we all tend to get busy this time of year, it is important to slow down and remember what God has done. Read the Christmas story and think of some things you are grateful for this year. And of course, don’t forget to reach out and help a neighbor.

Another thing I love about the holidays is being cozy and warm (even though it can be freezing out!). And yes, you can still look chic while bundling up. I love parkas. I have an olive green one like the jacket in this collage, and it is the warmest coat I have ever worn. Parkas are long and figure flattering, and they go well with any outfit.

Flannel is also in style, and we all know it’s super warm. Try updated colors like blue, peach, or purple this year. Dark skinny jeans and simple ankle boots anchor this outfit for a casual, yet polished look. Perfect for going out Christmas shopping!

For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord (Luke 2:11 NKJV).

The Gift of Love

What does it mean?

This special time of year–

All the hustle and bustle

Amid the freshly fallen snow.

Lights are twinkling,

While Santas jingle their bells.

The smell of vanilla and ginger penetrate the air.

What does it mean?

People running around,

And stores pushing for whatever will sell.

Mothers praying for their children overseas,

And children crying for the innocence they lost.

What does it mean?

Can it be wrapped up,

Or thrown into a bag?

Can it be brought down like snowflakes,

Scattered in the wind?

Can it be lifted high,

Like the star upon the city tree?

What does it mean?

Love wrapped up,

Crying and hungry for His mother’s breast.

Love brought down,

By an assembly of angels to hear

The praying mother or the weeping child.

Love lifted high,

Upon a cross to die for our sins.

Love that can’t be bought–

Because it already ransomed us.

Love more pure than the whitest snow,

Yet running red as it changes our hearts.

Merry Christmas everyone! I will see you next week for New Year’s 🙂

Fa La La La Fashion!

It’s almost Christmas! Can you feel the magic of God’s love and salvation in the air? I’ll be the first to admit that it can be kind of hard to with all of the busyness and commercialism of the holiday season.

However, this year as you are running around buying and making gifts and cooking dinner, remember the true reason for the season. Remember that love came down in the form of a baby in a manger to save all of humanity from their sins. Remember the God who loved you first, and His incredible Son Jesus.

In honor of Christmas, I decided to do a holiday fashion post! These outfits are perfect for both Christmas and New Year’s Eve celebrations. Although I will be posting next Wednesday, I will not be putting up a post next Friday since it will be Christmas.

I hope you like these collages and find them to be inspiring as you plan your holiday outfits 🙂

Holiday Glam

Holiday Glam

This outfit is so vintage–a true holiday classic! It sort of reminds me of the type of outfit Taylor Swift would wear. The black polka-dot lace and burgundy color give the perfect Christmastime feeling.

Christmas Star

Christmas Star

This outfit reminds me of how when my Grandpa Ron was still alive, he would always call me his movie star. He loved it when I dressed up and always greeted me on a family holiday with, “how’s my movie star?” I think he understood how shy I was around others. I love this sweater dress because it is both casual and festive. Pair it with some leggings and flats for a cute holiday look!

Winter Berry Grunge

Winter Berry Grunge

This outfit is great for both Christmas or New Year’s Eve. I just love this deep wine/berry color. Pair a simple fit and flare dress with edgy accessories for a classy yet unique look.

Jingle Belle of The Ball

Jingle Belle of the Ball

Another outfit that is perfect for New Year’s Eve! Nothing says a party like sparkles and silver or gold. Although I would need this dress to be a little longer, it is still a great inspiration. I really love the heels, although I would be a disaster at walking in them!

Thanks for reading! I hope you like these holiday outfit ideas. What is your favorite Christmas tradition? Tell me in the comments below 🙂

The Ugly Sweater Post

Oh ugly holiday sweaters, what would Christmas parties be without you? They are an American holiday pop culture phenomenon, and we are in love with them.

Here’s what comes to my mind when I think of Christmas:

  1. The birth of my Savior Jesus Christ
  2. Spending time with family and friends and giving them gifts
  3. Decorating the tree and baking
  4. Doing #2 and #3 in an ugly Christmas sweater

To be honest, I don’t even really own a Christmas sweater! But it’s something I have been wanting to do, and since I have some Christmas parties to attend soon, it looks like I’m going to have to go thrifting!

Whether you already have your ugly Christmas sweater, or are looking for inspiration, here are some collages to bring you some Christmas cheer!

Spread Some Cheer

Spread Some Cheer by fearfullywonderfullyme featuring unisex tops

Nothing says cheer like references to Mean Girls and Elf! Wear your ugly sweaters loud and proud with some clever phrases or song lyrics.

Christmas Character

Show your Christmas spirit by sporting your favorite animated character! Olaf and Minions are all the rage, and so are the classics (Ninja Turtles anyone?).

Cozy Cute

Okay, this is definitely my favorite! Then again, I’m a huge sucker for anything cute and furry. If I could, I would sport that owl sweater on a regular basis! And the one with the cat dressed in his own ugly sweater is priceless!

Christmas Fashion Special!

It’s Friday!!! I know that Christmas is over but I wanted to start off the Fashionably Fridays part of this blog with something special: A Christmas fashion haul! I want to share the clothes and accessories I’ve been blessed with. I hope you all enjoy looking at them, and maybe get some inspiration for your own modest style.

First off is this long cardigan from Kohl’s. It has an Aztec-like print and a hood.

khols sweater edit

ariel sweater edit

This Ariel pullover is also from Kohl’s. Isn’t it adorable? I’m obsessed with Ariel, and I will wear this with a grey or black tank underneath.

AE shorts edit

These shorts are from American Eagle. I know that it’s not summer yet, but they were on clearance for only $17! They’re really cute and good quality. They’re also not too short or too long.

AE sweater edit

This sweater is also American Eagle, but was bought at T.J. Maxx. It is really nice and warm, but I have to wear a tank underneath. I also got another multi-colored one.

meijer sweater edit

This sweater was from my mom, and it is light weight with a white lace trim on the bottom. It is super cute and will transition to Spring nicely.

skirts edit

These skirts were also from my mom, and will look great at church, on a date, or any other occasion. The black one has velvet flowers embossed on it, and the tan one has a black lace trim. They are knee length so they are appropriate for anything (the misses section at stores almost always has cute knee length skirts).

owl purse edit

And now for accessories! This scarf was from my cousin (who happened to be my secret Santa), and it goes well with everything because it has both beige and white neutrals. It’s an infinity scarf, and even though you can’t see it too well, it has sparkles on it. The owl purse is from my friend Paige. Too cute for words!

edited cat purse

Speaking of animal purses (which I am totally loving), my mom got me this adorable Betsey Johnson cat purse. It’s very unique, and is almost like a clutch– with a lot more room. I also won this leopard print scarf from a gift game at my boyfriend’s house. I’m really starting to like leopard print now…but only in small amounts.

So that’s it! I am very thankful for all of my gifts this year. I hope all of my lovely readers had an awesome Christmas. And I have to ask– What was your favorite gift that you got this year? Please comment below!

Love, Emily <3
