Once Was Enough
My hands cramp up as I Knit stitch after stitch, Trying to form the perfect tapestry Out of an imperfect heart. It never ends This cloak of guilt. Day after day I punch the sky, Trying to find a way out A way to freedom. My legs are on fire as I Run in staggered steps, My lungs constricted by the winter chill. I don’t know what I’m running from, But I can feel the weight of it Reaching for me like a dense fog. Day after day I collapse into its dark embrace, Wondering if there’s a way out A way to deliverance. Always I try To…

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly~Day 2 of The 30 Day Blog Challenge
(Image Source) Hello lovely readers and followers! Welcome back to Day 2 of the 30 Day Blog Challenge. Today’s Topic: Emily–The good, the bad, and the ugly. That’s quite a lot to write about yourself in one post, but I think I can do it in a poem! “Emily–The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly” I am bad. What, Why, and Where I Write~Day 1 of The 30 Day Blog Challenge
(Image Source) Happy New Year lovely readers and followers! I needed some blogging motivation for this month, so I decided to partner with Courtney of 1Timothy4:12Girl for the 30 Day Blog Challenge! Every day will feature a new post, which will help you get to know me more as I connect with you on a deeper level! So what do I write? Well, I obviously blog, but my writing life didn’t start there. “On This Day”~A Christmas Poem
On this day We remember the poor. We open the doors Of our homes and hearts To let loved ones in. On this day We give more than we receive. We open our hands And stretch our faith, Helping our fellow neighbor. On this day We put our differences aside. We open our minds To the freedom of forgiveness And the gift of grace. Let this day Last longer than just a meal. Let this day Become our anthem. As we sing of the King Who made Himself small, To give us new life On this day– And for all eternity. On the Edge
I’m on the edge, My feet hanging off as I stare down Into the pit. My heart sinks, Someone get me out of here. There are vultures surrounding, Waiting for my defeat. There are ropes binding My hands behind my back. Every thought is a dagger Piercing through my soul. I’m on the edge Lord, Standing here as You call me, As You beckon me to dive Into life. I take a deep breath and Fall forward. Suddenly the pit becomes my platform As the vultures fly away. The ropes are unraveling, My thoughts shatter, As You begin to burn within me. I’m on the edge, And…
