Dreamer of Oceans and Safaris

Happy Friday lovely readers and followers! Today is Day 16 of The 30 Day Blog Challenge.

Today’s Topic: Dream Travel Destination

I’ll admit that I’ve had limited travel experience in my life. The first time I left my home state was last year, when I flew to South Carolina. It was also my first plane ride, which has now sparked my addiction to flying.

I loved South Carolina, but since  I went for my brother’s wedding, I wasn’t able to go to the beach. We were near the mountains though, which were fascinating from the view of the plane!

I guess my dream travel destination would be Myrtle Beach. I’ve heard how beautiful the beaches and town are there, and I really want to see the ocean. I can only imagine how beautiful the crystal waters would look from a plane, and I’ve always wanted to experience the majesty of one of God’s finest creations (besides us!).

I also want to go to Ireland. I’m Irish, so I feel like seeing the country where my ancestors are from would be amazing–especially with all of the beautiful architecture and greenery Ireland boasts. I also have a great, great, Grandma who immigrated from Germany, so I would like to visit that country as well.

Recently I have become obsessed with the show Safari Live on Nat Geo WILD. A team of awesome guides takes you on a live safari  in South Africa, and you don’t even have to leave your house! I love the beautiful leopards, lions, giraffes, and cool bugs and plants they show. Plus, since it’s all live you never know what will happen!

This show makes me want to visit South Africa and go on an actual safari. The only issue is that having POTS makes it extremely difficult to be out in the heat. Still, this dreamer is determined to work something out. In the meantime, I want to educate myself more on wild animals and nature in general. I’ve never been an “outdoorsy” girl, but this show is changing me!

Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it. Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy. (Psalm 96:11-12 NIV)

Airplanes and Wanderlust~Day 7 of The 30 Day Blog Challenge

Hello lovely readers and followers! Welcome back to Day 7 of the 30 Day Blog Challenge!

Today’s Topic: Somewhere You’d Like to Move or Visit

My Wanderlust

To be honest, I’ve never traveled much. I live in the Midwest, but I did fly to South Carolina last month for my brother’s wedding. I loved it there and can’t wait to go back again. We were close to the mountains, and it was beautiful–with lots of fun shopping centers and awesome places to eat at. Next time I go, I want to see the ocean!

I had my first experience with flying on my trip to South Carolina. I was so nervous about it and thought I wouldn’t really enjoy the plane ride–I have never been more wrong about anything. I can’t stop thinking about the plane rides and how it felt to take off and touch down. I can’t stop browsing through the photos on my phone and get goosebumps at the memories.

Both flights were pretty smooth, so I know that I still haven’t experienced what it feels like to go through rough turbulence. But even if I do experience that, I don’t think that it will change my love of flying.

I am a cautious person by nature. I’m afraid of heights, and I don’t really take too many risks when it comes to extreme activities. I guess I’m rather boring to some people, but I don’t really care. I prefer to read, write, and explore unique shops and restaurants.

However, I do want to travel more, and I definitely want to fly more. If I could take an airplane to get around my hometown, I would! That’s how much I loved my first plane ride.

(A photo I took on the plane. I prayed, and look what God made in the clouds!)

Someday I want to go to Disney World (although I don’t really care about the rides), Chicago, and California. I also want to go to Ireland since I’m Irish. I think Japan would be really cool too. I’ve always been fascinated by Japanese culture and anime.

As for moving? Right now I like where I live. The climate suits my health conditions, and I love my church and community. However, I know that God could have other plans for me one day, so I’m definitely open to moving later on in my life.

All I know is that life is an adventure, and wherever I go, I want to be where Jesus is. I want to keep on following Him and being a source of love and light to those around me. When I sit in an airplane, gazing out the window, I want to feel His presence as I look at the glory of the heavens around me.

They are pieces of His grace. They are pieces of His beauty. They are pieces of His love for us.

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands (Psalm 19:1 NIV).

Colorful Jackets + Life Updates!

Happy Friday lovely readers and followers! Time for a (happy) medical update 🙂

The new medications I am on for my IBS are working! Finally, my digestive system is functioning more like a normal person. Now we just need to work on my blood pressure. Thank you so much for all of your prayers! I know I can feel all of your love and support.

Over the next two weeks I have guest bloggers lined up to take over for me. It’s finals time, so I’m swamped with work. I‘m also going down south for my brother’s wedding! It’s my first time being a bridesmaid, and I’m both nervous and excited.

Do you have any tips for a first time bridesmaid? It’s also my first time traveling by airplane, so if you have any advice, I will gladly take it!

Today’s collage is all about colorful (faux) leather jackets! Although in a lot of states it’s getting too cold for a lighter jacket, sometimes you just need to tough it out to make a fashion statement.

Many people think of leather/faux leather jackets only in the color black or tan. This season, play with pastels, burgundy, or even winter white! Details like zippers and buckles will add an edge to whatever color you choose.

I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised;
So shall I be saved from my enemies (Psalm 18:3 NKJV).

I hope you liked this post! Please feel free to comment and share 🙂
