Friends With Benefits, Jesus, and Love

I was in in the middle of eating lunch and thumbing through my friends’ Snap Chat stories when an article from Cosmopolitan about how to pull off having friends with benefits caught my eye. What I didn’t know is that God was going to use this article to remind me of what love really is all about. At first, my hope was that this article was only click bait sarcasm on why being friends with benefits is a terrible idea. And of course, I was wrong. So wrong in fact, that the article actually had some celebrity psychologist spewing advice on how to have casual sex with a friend and not get hurt–or fall in…

    Valentine’s Day Validation

Valentine’s Day–the day for couples to shower each other with gifts, chocolates, and fancy dates. And the day for single women to watch chick flicks (Princess Diaries anyone?) while eating their weight in chocolate.  I’ve actually been on both sides of this holiday, and to be honest, there’s a lot more hype about Valentine’s Day than there really should be. One of my blogger friends Courtney asked me if I was going to do a Valentine’s Day post. Truthfully, I kind of forgot about that! Hello lovely readers and followers! Welcome back to Day 3 of the 30 Day Blog Challenge.  Today’s Topic: Describe Being Single Well, I’ve already written a guest post on being a single Christian lady, but I didn’t really share my personal experience. I guess that’s because writing about love and relationships is a very personal and sensitive topic to approach. I’ve dated before. I had a couple of relationships in high school that ended badly, and one at the beginning of college that wasn’t what God wanted for me. Right now I am single, and I would say that I am pretty content–most of the time. There are definitely moments I…

Real Talk~What the Bible Says About Sex

This is a guest post by the creative and fun blogger, Dainty M. I think it’s awesome how boldly she wrote on such a complicated topic. I hope you all enjoy! So this a topic most people shy away from, especially me. I’m a conservative, and I can come up with a thousand other topics to write about before this one. But this remains a core part of every young adult’s life, and God has led me to write on it. I’m no pro when it comes to stuff like this, but I believe in His guidance. So yes, young adults are said to be sexually active. Generally, youths are hot…

    FirstFruits~What Are You Pursuing?

Hello lovely readers and followers! Welcome to Part 2 of the FirstFruits series, where we explore the concepts of James 1. What runs your life? That is the question James asks his fellow believers in verse 11. For no sooner has the sun risen with a burning heat than it withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beautiful appearance perishes. So the rich man also will fade away in his pursuits (James 1:11 NKJV). A lot of people think that James is condemning all rich people, and that it is evil to have money. That’s not true, as sin affects us all no matter if we are rich or…
